As Euro 2024 draws near, football fans across Europe will be eagerly anticipating seeing their teams compete for the prestigious trophy in Germany this summer. As excitement builds, here’s a look at which teams the bookmakers are tipping as the favourites to win the tournament.

England are the bookmakers’ favourite to win Euro 2024, with average odds of 2.9/1.
Gareth Southgate’s men reached the final of the last tournament, narrowly missing out on the trophy after losing on penalties to Italy. The squad is once again overflowing with generational football talent, with the likes of La Liga Player of the Season Jude Bellingham, Premier League Player of the Season Phil Foden, and Bundesliga Golden Boot winner Harry Kane, to name just a few.
Placing second in the rankings is France, with average odds of 3.8/1.
France stands out as one of the top contenders due to their tactical versatility and depth in every position. Deschamps side are also no strangers when it comes to winning tournaments, with star players Kylian Mbappe, Antonine Griezmann and N’Golo Kante helping France to win the World Cup back in 2018.
Ranking third is Germany, with average odds of 5.1/1.
Although the German national team is not as formidable as it once was, several players, such as Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz, will enter the tournament off the back of career-defining seasons. In addition to this, being the host nation cannot be underestimated when it comes to tournament football, and the bookmakers’ odds certainly reflect that.
Portugal ranks fourth on the list, with average odds of 7.8/1.
Euro 2024 may well spell the end of international football for 39-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored his first goal for Portugal at Euro 2004 – the Portuguese icon will no doubt be looking to mark his twelve major international tournament with a trophy.
Ranking fifth is Spain, with average odds of 8.2/1.
Spain consistently displays strong performances in international competitions and will be looking to continue that trend heading into Euro 2024. Luis De La Fuente’s team will likely contain several youth prospects, such as 16-year-old Lamine Yamal, who they hope will come of age in Germany this summer.
Placing sixth is Italy, with average odds of 15.3/1.
The reigning champions Italy have been handed a tough group this tournament, having to face both Croatia and Spain during the group stage. As such, Mancini’s men have been priced at around 15-1, although this could prove to be excellent value should they qualify for the knockout stages.
Belgium ranks seventh on the list, with average odds of 16.8/1.
Many will see Belgium as somewhat of a ‘dark horse’ going into the tournament; whilst they may not be favourites, the squad contains some world-class players, albeit in the twilight of their international careers, with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku.
Eighth on the list is the Netherlands, with average odds of 17.1/1.
Despite their weaker form recently, the Netherlands are still considered third-tier contenders for Euro 2024, alongside Italy and Belgium, who are seen as the last of the ‘realistic’ winners. International veterans Memphis Depay, Frenkie De Jong, and Virgil Van Dijk will be looking to propel the Netherlands to a first final since the 2010 World Cup.
Croatia ranks ninth on the list, with average odds of 39.2/1.
Croatia’s biggest challenge will be exiting their group, which also includes both Spain and Italy. Regardless, Croatia’s presence in international competitions should not be underestimated, and with Euro 2024 being earmarked as the last major tournament for Croatian legend Luca Modric, anything is possible should they make it to the knockout stage.
Rounding off the top is Denmark, with average odds of 42.7/1.
Despite being priced at more than 40/1 on average, only Romelu Lukaku (14), Cristiano Ronaldo (10), Kylian Mbappe (9) and Harry Kane (8) scored more goals than Denmark’s Rasmus Hojlund (7) during the Euro 2024 Qualifying Phase, which should give them a glimmer of hope going into the tournament.
