ANNOUNCEMENT
After some anxiety about the future of the African Music Festival, we are now all the more pleased to be able to present this year’s wonderful programme (1-4 August) under the motto “We are one”!
Thanks to the great support of many people who donated, contributed to the crowd-funding campaign and took part in the benefit concerts, we were able to make up for the financial losses of last year. In addition, this year’s festival is supported by the Federal Festival Promotion Fund, which aims to support the important cultural-political work of festivals and to maintain and strengthen artistic diversity.
The popular World Bazaar and a diverse supporting programme with creative offerings, workshops and cinema continue to be an integral part of the festival.
Unlike in previous years, in 2024 the concerts of the various musical genres from reggae, Afro, Latin and world music will be colourfully spread over all four days of the festival.
The line-up includes great artists such as the celebrated reggae stars Gentlemen (Germany) and Tarrus Riley (Jamaica), as well as the Latino power band Bazurto All Stars (Colombia), the rising world music stars Siti & The Band (Zanzibar / Tanzania) and the local gospel choir Soulva-tion (Emmendingen).
