Dr Vivian Chioma Timothy, a Germany-based Nigerian artist, will speak at the 2021 World Summit on Women and Girls. The event, which commemorates the United Nations International Day of the Girl, takes place on Thursday 28 October 2021.

The self-taught, multiple award-winning artist will join global leaders such as Ms Coleiro Preca, former President of Malta; Hajia Fatoumata Jallow Tambajang, former vice president of The Gambia; and Ms Maureen Mwanawasa, former First Lady of Zambia, to speak at the annual event. Mayor Sheran Palacio of Belmopan, Belize, and Ms Tessy Antony de Nassau, a Luxembourgish businesswoman and non-profit executive, among other personalities, will also address the summit.

“The World Summit on Women & Girls is an annual Inter-Generational Dialogue that brings together women world leaders to dialogue with young women and girls across the globe in celebration of the 2021 United Nations International Day of the Girl,” the Justina Mutale Foundation, organisers of the event, said.

“Under the theme Girlforce: Unscripted and Unstopable – Digital Generation: Our Generation, the Summit will unite and convene an esteemed group of speakers, from world leaders, politicians, members of royal families, parliamentarians, ministers, diplomats, celebrities and business leaders, as well as young women and girls from all over the world.”

The Summit will be held virtually via satellite in partnership with Channel A TV broadcast from Seattle, Washington, and livestreamed to a global audience on all social media platforms.

“Dr Vivian Timothy will join world leaders from across the globe to articulate, through her unique art, the future we want for the girl-child at our Summit,” the Justina Mutale Foundation said.
