THE AFRICAN COURIER. Reporting Africa and its Diaspora! The African Courier is an international magazine published in Germany to report on Africa and the Diaspora African experience. The first issue of the bimonthly magazine appeared on the newsstands on 15 February 1998. The African Courier is a communication forum for European-African political, economic and cultural exchanges, and a voice for Africa in Europe.
No fewer than 20 Nigerian migrants have been deported by the German authority, The African Courier can confirm.
The migrants arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 4:30pm on Monday (19 August).
The African Courier gathered that the returnees were picked randomly at different times and detained in a deportation prison prior to their repatriation.

The returnees told our correspondent that they were denied access to their lawyers and chained in the plane while being deported back to Nigeria. They were visibly angry and did not allow journalists to take their pictures frontally, creating a scene as they made way through the multitude of airport officials and press men and women.
Some of the returnees complained of ill-treatment by the German police and medical doctors and being let down by the Nigerian Embassy in Germany. Some lamented that they were sick and receiving treatment, which should have made the authorities to stay action on their repatriation, according to the law.

Rex Osas, a Germany-based activist and coordinator of Network Refugees4Refugees, a political platform for refugees/migrant self-organization based in Stuttgart, Germany, had earlier revealed plans by the German government to deport Nigerian migrants to the media.
