THE AFRICAN COURIER. Reporting Africa and its Diaspora! The African Courier is an international magazine published in Germany to report on Africa and the Diaspora African experience. The first issue of the bimonthly magazine appeared on the newsstands on 15 February 1998. The African Courier is a communication forum for European-African political, economic and cultural exchanges, and a voice for Africa in Europe.
Nigerians and other Africans living in the United Kingdom will march to the embassies of Nigeria and South Africa in London on Saturday (14 September) to express their displeasure over the xenophobic killings in South Africa. The protesters will ask both governments to act decisively to stop the incessant killing of foreign residents from other African countries living in South Africa.
Organisers have called those interested in taking part in the march to assemble at the Nigeria High Commission in London at 10 am. The march will proceed from there to the South African mission.
The London protest follows a similar action in Berlin last Saturday, at which a group, representing South Africans living in Germany, marched to their country’s embassy to protest against all forms of violence in the country, especially those directed against women and foreign Africans.
“The Alliance says An Injury to One is An Injury To All,” said Thabo Thindi, a spokeman of the group.
“We are outside the South African embassy in Berlin to protest about the violence especially against women, children and African foreigners going on in South Africa at the moment. It’s totally unacceptable,” he added. “South Africans wake up and realise you are not the ones benefitting from these atrocities you are committing against yourself!”
