Nigeria 2019: UK-based Prince Sylvester Dugbo goes for Delta House of Assembly

Nigerians in the Diaspora are very concerned with the situation of their home country which is why it’s always the main topic whenever they gather. The time of talking seems to be nearing its end as some are now venturing into the political terrain at home to make their impact felt. One of the Diaspora Nigerians contesting at the country’s next general election is the UK-based Prince Sylvester Ogba Dugbo, who has thrown his hat into the political ring of Delta State and he’s received the support of his fellow Diasporans.

Prince Sylvester Ogba Dugbo is seeking election into the House of Assembly of Delta State on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) at the country’s general election in February 2019.

Prince Dugbo, a successful UK-based entrepreneur, said his decision to contest to represent the Udu Constituency is borne out of his desire to give an effective representation to his people.

Born on the 22 November 1971 into the family of Chief Justice T.K Dugbo (Rtd), the state parliament candidate graduated with an honours degree in Business Administration from the University of Benin.

Prince Dugbo began his entrepreneurial exploits already while in school, when he would travel to neighbouring states to buy clothes and ornaments to sell to his fellow students on campus.

The politician in Prince Dugbo was also already apparent at the university where he was a member of the student’s union parliament and chairman of its business committee. For two years he received the accolade of the “most outstanding parliamentarian of the institution”.

After graduation from the University of Benin, Prince Dugbo relocated to further his studies in the UK, where he established himself as an entrepreneur. In 2010, he established the PSOD (an acronym of his name) group, comprising a water factory, fashion home, a farm and a laundry outfit in Delta State.

Prince Dugbo, who has always believed that you have to give back to your community, also set up a philanthropic outfit, which supports talented youths seeking a sporting career in the UK and he renders assistance to widows and other needy persons in his constituency.

Asked of his plans if he gets elected, Prince Dugbo would like to provide his people with a leadership that is “transparent and accountable”. He would also implement youth empowerment schemes as a way to provide opportunities for young people to become gainfully employed.

Prince Dugbo’s fellow Deltans in the European Diaspora are fully backing his political ambition and have pledged their support to him.

Convinced that what Delta State needs are individuals with a heart for the people exemplified by Dugbo’s activities in his state coupled with his international exposure, the highly influential Nigerian Diaspora Group has thrown its support behind Prince Sylvester Ogba Dugbo and will send a team to Nigeria to campaign for him.
