Noel Yengong, aka Manlikeclix, and other African models represented Africa at the 2019 Pitti Uomo, Europe’s biggest men’s fashion exhibition, recently.
Pitti Uomo is a 3-day event at which the biggest fashion brands, designers, influencers and partners from all over the globe gather to showcase their new collections and styles.
Manlikeclix, who was born in Cameroon and came to Europe at a very young age, is one of the biggest African fashion influencers and stylists in Germany and he has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram.
At the 2019 Pitti Uomo, held in June in the Italian city of Florence, Berlin-based Manlikeclix showcased his unique creations, which he calls Afro Fusion Style – a blend of African fabric (Ankara) and Italian style. His trade mark is The Noel Closet.
Created in 1972, Pitti Uomo is held in Florence twice a year. And it is considered the world’s most important platform for men’s clothing and accessory collections and for launching new projects in men’s fashion.
In an interview with The African Courier, Manlikeclix said his source of inspiration is Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s unique outfits and vintage Italian wears. While everyone looks the same fashion-wise these days, this African has chosen a path to identify his uniqueness blending his roots and where he currently resides. This is someone to watch out for in the fashion world. Find him on Instagram @manlikeclix
